This book seemed to fill in some missing gaps on how to get started when looking for big bucks, in the big woods, I thought there would be more detail on specifics, I felt that the book repeated itself alot, all in all a good book with some new valuable insights on tracking.
These aren't just any hunters however, they know their stuff.they have the nice bucks too to validate their knowledge and experiences.I thought I was pretty good at tracking, stalking, willing to work extra hard, but was excited to learn there is so much more to know looking at a deer track. They say in Wisconsin that the average hunter travels no farther into the woods than about 75 yards from their parked truck. From the still hunting I've done in much of northern Wisconsin, I'd certainly say that seems to be the case.My son told me about this book and he also has the Benoit video which we watched. What a delight to see some hunters hunting, tracking.every sense alive, not afraid to venture into the wilds in pursuit. Practically advice.when to pick up pace and not waste time, and when to pay attention with every step. A good read.a fun read, and a lot of good information.
My husband cannot get enough of this beautifully illustrated, greatly understandable instructions on how to 'get the big ones.' He is proud to have this book on our shelves.Anna Marie Fritz, author of "Funny Feline Fotos" and other amazon books.
It is the same book as the first edition, with 2 new chapters and recent pics. The benoits are def the best out there and you will learn alot from there books and videos
I read a copy of this book from a library a while back and then was happy to find a new edition had come out. The Benoits are the best true deer hunters on the planet and Bryce Towsley is, far and away, one of the best writers in the business. I hunt in Wisconsin and Michigan and find this info very helpful. If you're a deer hunter, buy this book.
